Development Roadmaps for Personal Success
Although it’s common to let life happen to us and take what comes — the good with the bad — development can be an intentional process in which you get clear about who you are, what’s important to you, and where you’re going.
Creating a personal development roadmap is built on acquiring deep knowledge of self which allows you to go more deeply into success because you have more self-awareness about how to solve problems.
Utilizing our In-Depth Personality Profile, this process provides you a series of assessments coupled with coaching hours to review the feedback and develop a plan that dramatically improves your leverage for moving forward. You’ll end up with a specific and concrete plan, complete with goals, action steps, and measures of success.
With a well-defined roadmap crafted from deep self-knowledge, you gain the wherewithal to operate at a much higher level. My clients always tell me they find the process and the momentum they gain from it to be eye-opening, affirming, and forward-moving.
What You Actually Do
You start by taking a series of assessments which give us information about your strengths, various preferences, styles, and opportunities for development.
The self-assessments include:
- the Client Info Packet
- MBTI (Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator) which profiles your innate personality preferences
- Reiss Desire Profile which gives you insight into your core motivational drives and values
- LSI (Learning Style Inventory) which gives us information about your learning style
- Your Neuro-linguistic Representational Style (the key senses you use to process information)
- The Thomas Kilman Instrument which provides insight into how your preferred ways of dealing with conflict
Why do this program?
In short, you gain a whole new set of self-management tools, enhance your ability to solve problems, and get better results.
What does this allow you to do?
With the self-knowledge you gain, you are more fully able to be yourself, express yourself, and improve the results you want. Think of this information you get as a way of holding up a mirror in which you can see your natural talents and strengths, traits, values, and motives. Knowing this allows you to build on them, fine tune them, and also helps you to manage your non-preferences and rein in behaviors that negatively impact you or others. This is the essence of life by design.
Specifically, after you go through this process, you’ll find…
- you communicate more effectively with different personality styles
- you manage your time, your priorities, and your energy more effectively
- you understand better how and why people do what they do
- you’re able to increase your ability to influence
- you make more fully-informed decisions
- you have less conflict with others and maybe even with yourself
- all of these effects will facilitate greater productivity in yourself and with others
This is a stand-alone program although it also makes up the first phase of any individual coaching engagement.
How much time is involved?
The self-assessments and 360 assessment typically take about 2-3 weeks, and this phase is followed by 4 hours of coaching in which we create your development plan, action goals, and measures of success The whole process usually occurs over a 4-6 week period.
